Crowley's Life: Part I

Previously the Archangel Barachiel, Anthony J. Crowley is a rebellious and fiery-haired demon. He was the snake that tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden and thus his human form also has snake eyes, which he usually covers with designer sunglasses.There are many varied spellings: Baraqel, Baraqiel, or Barachiel.He was the 9th watcher of the 20 leaders of the 200 fallen angels that are mentioned in an ancient work called the Book of Enoch. The name means "lightning of God," which is fitting since it has been said that Barachiel taught men astrology during the days of Jared or Yered.Barachiel's responsibilities were as varied as the blessings for which the archangel was named. Barachiel was also the chief of the guardian angels and it is written that Barachiel may have been prayed to for all the benefits which the guardian angel was thought to confer if one was not praying to the guardian angel directly, but as an intercession. He is still seen as an official saint in Byzantine Catholic and Eastern Orthodox tradition, in particular a patron of family and married life. He is also seen as the angel assigned by God to watch over converts (also called "adopted children of God") to assist them in their lives.Barachiel also played a big role in astrology as he was the ruler of the planet Jupiter and is linked to the Pisces and Scorpio zodiac signs. He taught astrology to Humans.Despite how much he tries to deny it, despite how ridiculous he is, Crowley isn't that far off from who he used to be. He doesn't want to have any attention drawn to him. He's compassionate despite it all. He hides behind being a demon. He hides behind his comedy and sass. They're his armor and shield.His trauma from being thrown out of heaven is atrocious and well-hidden. He's not really a demon. He was just given no other choice. He asked far too many questions. Sure, he's done some evil deeds, but that was in order to survive, not out of choice.Still, even now, Crowley has a fascination with the weather and can easily control it. He cares, is a compassionate and healing being. These things have never changed. He was also the one who created the stars, so of course he cared for the teaching of astrology (and astronomy). Even after falling, he still loves the beauty in the Universe.

The Shop: Part II

Out of pure boredom, Crowley purchased a shop to fill with the gothic and macabre. He sells art pieces and antiques. He went through quite a few names: Gothic Grotto, Creepy Couture, and Eerie Emporium, before finally settling on Dark Delights. It's across the road from Aziraphale's bookshop. It's grown on him, though, becoming a second home (because the angel's bookshop is his first) and an occupation on the rare occasion that the world isn't ending and he has the time for it. Unlike Aziraphale, he actually sells items.Dark Delights can be described by customers as a locally owned oddities shop that offers creepy and curious gifts for those brave enough to enter all year round.Think of a dimly lit curiosities shop from the 1800's, decorated with various plants and herbs, selling everything from the terrifying, tantalizing, and haunting, to the fascinating and obscure.On most days, you can even find a black cat curled up in various different corners or shelves. He wandered into the shop one day and refused to leave. It feels more like he adopted Crowley, not the opposite. He's been named Grimalkin. A grimalkin, also known as a greymalkin, is an archaic term for a cat.There are a few Ouija boards that are set out for display only. He'll never sell them. The dark entities attached to said items would make anyone's life a living hell. Instead, they reside in the shop (and occasionally water his plants for him). It's the perfect home for them.
